Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 5, 2026

1. Information We Collect

By using our API service or website, you agree to this Privacy Policy. We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our service:

  • LaTeX templates you submit for processing
  • JSON data for template variable replacement
  • API logs in our database, which may include timestamps, identifiers, HTTP metadata, and request and response bodies (for example template text, input JSON, and error or status information) for operations, debugging, rate limiting, billing-related usage, and security
  • Technical information (IP addresses, user agents) for security and debugging
  • Contact information you provide (name, email address) when creating accounts or contacting support

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

  • Process your LaTeX templates and generate PDF documents
  • Monitor API usage and enforce rate limits
  • Debug service issues and improve performance
  • Prevent abuse and ensure service security
  • Evaluate or conduct business transfers such as mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales where your data may be among the transferred assets

3. Data Retention and Deletion

We follow a strict data minimization policy:

  • Render requests (templates and input): Used to process each API call. We do not keep that content as ordinary persistent files or shared caches on our application servers in a way that could expose one customer’s submissions to another. For running the service we do record API activity—including payloads—in database-stored logs under access controls (see below).
  • Generated PDFs and render workers: We do not retain completed PDFs as ordinary persistent files on our application servers after fulfilling your request. Temporary files used during compilation on render workers are removed when each job completes.
  • API logs (including bodies where logged): Kept only for a limited period for debugging, security, and operations; we may adjust retention as needed and will reflect material changes in this policy when appropriate

4. Security of your information

We take the security of personal information seriously and use safeguards we believe are appropriate to the nature of our service and the data we handle. No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  • Encryption in transit: We use HTTPS (TLS) for connections to our website and API where we provide the endpoint, so data is encrypted between your client and our service in the ordinary course.
  • Access and infrastructure: Access to systems that process your information is limited to what is needed to operate, secure, and improve the service. We rely on reputable hosting and subprocessors that maintain their own security practices; their use of your data is governed by their terms and policies as well as our agreements with them.
  • Processing, logging, and isolation: Templates and input data you send are processed to fulfil your request. Payloads are not left on shared application servers as durable user storage visible across accounts. We do store detailed API logs (which may include full request and response bodies) in our database, with controls intended so that other customers cannot access your log records; access by our operators is limited to what is needed to operate and secure the service.
  • Monitoring and abuse prevention: We may use logging, rate limiting, and similar measures to operate the service, troubleshoot issues, and detect or prevent abuse.

We do not publish an exhaustive technical security specification here; doing so can create misleading precision as our systems evolve. If you need more detail for procurement or compliance (for example as a business customer), we can provide appropriate information through separate channels or agreements. For general questions, use the contact details in section 12.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not make your API traffic, templates, or generated outputs available to other customers. We may share or disclose information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Business transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or part of our business
  • Legal requirements: When required by law or in response to valid legal process
  • Safety and security: To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or the public
  • With your consent: For any other purpose with your explicit consent

6. Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses tracking technologies to improve our service and understand usage patterns:

  • Google Analytics: To analyze website traffic and user behavior
  • Google Ads: To measure advertising effectiveness and show relevant ads
  • Meta Pixel (Facebook): To track conversions and optimize advertising campaigns
  • Essential cookies: For authentication and rate limiting in our API service

You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. However, disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect information:

These services have their own privacy policies and data collection practices independent of ours.

8. Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold—including data that appears in API logs. The limited retention described for logs above also applies. To exercise rights or ask about log data, contact us below. For advertising-related data, you can:

9. Business Transfers and Legal Disclosure

9.1. Business Transactions

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide advance notice before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

9.2. Legal Requirements

We may disclose your personal data when required by law, legal process, or in response to valid requests by public authorities. We may also disclose data in good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with legal obligations or court orders
  • Protect and defend our rights or property
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with our service
  • Protect the personal safety of users or the public
  • Protect against legal liability

10. International Data Transfers

Our service may be hosted and operated from various locations globally. Third-party services (Google, Meta) may also process data internationally. By using our service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data internationally, where data protection laws may differ from your country.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "last updated" date above.
